Memorial Day Fun!

We had the best Memorial day weekend. Saturday morning we did our dates with the kids and then Saturday afternoon we went with my cousins and family up to our family graves in SL and then went out to dinner at Happy Sumo. Then on Monday the kids really wanted to go swimming and they had been looking forward to it, but we found out Monday morning that our pool wasn't opening until this weekend. They were so disapointed so we went and got a slip and slide and let them each bring a friend and we went and did slip and slides at my mom's house. They loved it and Chuck and I got to sit on the deck and spend time together while they played. It was so nice to just get time to relax and talk with Chuck, our lives have been so crazy lately with him studying for the LSAT every night, it seems that we only have time to talk about the stuff that needs to be talked about. It was nice to have no agenda and just get to enjoy each other's company. We were all in heaven having him home for 3 days straight. I love my little family, and I am getting to be so grateful for the little moments we have together and the times that we spend laughing and playing.

Bikes and Dates

We have had a fun couple of weeks. Cayden learned to ride his bike without training wheels. We went over to the church parking lot to teach him and chuck was helping him learn how to balance but still had the training wheels on. Emma had to go potty so we ran accross the street to go and by the time we got back Cayden was riding accross the parking lot by himself without his training wheels. I don't know what Chuck did in that 5 minutes we were gone, but Cayden took to it right away. Now Cayden is obsessed with riding his bike and wants to go out like 3 or 4 times a day to ride. I am so proud of him, he is growing up to fast. He is so cute on his bike, I make him wear all the pads and helmet cause he is so crazy on it that he takes some really bad falls. I think I counted 21 bruises or cuts on his legs while he was in the bath the other day. But he loves is and has yet to complain. He is just such a daredevil, I swear that kid is fearless.

A new tradition that Chuck and I are starting with the kids is that once a month we will each take one of them on a date, and we will switch off who we take. We have done it for a couple of months and the kids have really enjoyed, so have we. I love getting individual quality unrushed time with them. And they are in heaven when they get to go on a date with their daddy and he will do anything they want with them. Emma never wants to go out and do anthing when she goes with him, she just wants to stay home and play princesses. This month Cayden wanted to build a ramp for his bike and then ride on it. They went and picked out the wood at Home Depot and then came home and Cayden helped daddy build his ramp. They had so much fun and Cadyen loves his ramp and was so excited to ride on it.

Emma wanted to go to Dear Lizzie, which is a really cute girly boutique and cafe, and get cupcakes and look at princess stuff. Emma calls that store the princess store, cause everything is so girly and frilly, and they have the best cupcakes ever. We sat and ate cupcakes and talked, and then looked at jewelry. Then we came home and I gave Emma a manicure and pedicure. She loved it. I had so much fun talking to her. I am surprised all the time by how grown up she is getting.

preschool graduation

Cayden graduated from preschool last week and I am so proud of him. They had a little program and sang some of their favorite songs that they have learned this year. Then the teacher had each of them come up seperately and show the picture they had drawn of their favorite thing about preschool. Cayden's favorite thing was story time. NO surprise there since his favorite thing in the world is for mom and dad to tell him stories. I can't believe he will be going to Kindergarted next year. I am a little bit sad and excited. I'm sad because this is the beginning of him being gone every day, and being away from home more than he is here. But I am excited to have time with girls while he is gone and that he is growing into such a smart little boy. He has learned so much this year and has improved so much in his reading and handwriting skills. We are so excited that he got into American Heritage and he is especially excited because he gets to "learn school stuff and about Jesus" at his new school. I am really going to enjoy having him home with me for the summer and we have already been doing lots of fun activities.
