Cayden's Baptism

Cayden decided he wanted to wait until we got to Utah to be baptised so that all of his family could be there. He was baptised on May 19. It was such a special day for our family. I am so proud of him and the decision that he has made. Cayden decided about a year ago that he wanted to read the entire Book of Mormon before he was baptised so he could pray about it and know if it was true before he took this big step. I have been so proud of him as he has worked really hard, sometimes reading 3 or 4 pages a day to complete his goal. He finished the Book of Mormon about 3 weeks before his baptism and we were so proud of him. We have spent the last few months of family night and devotionals preparing him for his baptism and for the covenents that he would be making, and for recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost. The night before his baptism we went to dinner as a family and talked about how special the next day would be for him. I got him a journal and I had him write in his journal his thoughts about what the next day would be like. We were so happy that all of our family and good friends could be there to support him on his big day. I only got pictures of those who came early, I'm mad I didn't get any of my sisters with him or any of his cousins. The baptism was beautiful. Emma played I am a Child of God on the Violin and it was so beautiful. I could see him getting misty eyed during all the talks and I could tell he was really feeling the spirit. I just cried when I went in to help him change after the baptism. I was so proud of him. After the confirmation he was grinning from ear to ear and didn't stop for about 5 hours. He really felt the spirit and was so happy. After the baptism we came back to my mom's and had a luncheon with all our friends and family. Then that evening we took Cayden out to dinner with just our family and took him to the park. We sat together and talked about the day and what our favorite parts were and how Cayden felt. WE gave him his own Quad set of Scriptures with his name engraved on it and a new case. It was such a perfect day, and I'm really glad we took time that evening to be together with just our family and talk about what had happened and how Cayden felt. Besides my wedding day and the births of my children this was one of the best days of my life. I was so proud of him and I love him so much.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was so nice this year. We had just gotten into town the day before so I didn't think that Chuck or the kids would have anything planned for me because moving had been so crazy. But I was pleasantly surprised. Chuck let me sleep in and him and the kids made me breakfast. Then we went to church, and had an amazing lesson in Relief Society. After Church Ron and Chuck made dinner for us all. We were able to have Grandma Brown over for dinner as well, and it was so nice to see her. After dinner the kids and Chuck gave me their gift. Chuck had sneaked off Saturday to get me my favorite cookie from Kneaders (that I really missed while we were in Indiana) and he had gotten me a gift certificate for 2 90 minute maternity massages. I am always uncomfortable while I'm pregnant so that was the best gift he could have gotten me. I am so grateful for him and how much he does for me. I really do have the best huband ever, I love him so much. I am also so grateful for my 3 little angels. I love them all so much, and I love being a mother. I can't think of anything else I would ever want to do. I am so excited to add another baby to our home this summer, and grateful for the chance I have to be a mother to these precious little ones. Thanks Chuck for making my mothers day special even though we were in the middle of craziness!

Move to Utah

The first week of May we packed up our house and moved back out to Utah. The move was so exhausting for me. Never move accross the country when you are 6 1/2 months pregnant and super sick, and your husband is in the middle of finals. We are applying to do Chuck's 3rd year as a visiting student at BYU or University of Utah, but don't find out if we are accepted until July. So we took a leap of faith and moved everything out here when we came for the summer. My amazing best friend Aimee knew how sick I've been with this pregnancy so she flew out for 5 days to help me pack and wrap all the furniture. I really couldn't have done it all without her. The day before we were supposed to leave I was driving Aimee back to the airport and my transmission blew on my car. It was so scary, we were on the freeway and my car just shifted into neurtral. So we had to stay an extra day while we waited for our transmission to be replaced. Stuff like that always happens at the worst times. At least it wasn't while we were driving accross the coutry while we were in the middle of nowhere in Iowa, it could have been way worse. Anway, we made it here safely, just in time for his internship to start. Chuck is doing an internship for the summer at the IP law firm Workman Nydegger. We were so excited to get this internship, this is the firm that we wanted to work for before we even started law school and it has been a huge blessing to get an internship there. We are hoping that he will get a job offer for after school at the end of the summer. Anyway, we are living with my parents again for the summer to save as much money as possible and we are excited that we will get to have the baby while we are here. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we are here for good!!!
