Update

So I am about 4 months behind in my blogging. I wanted to update before we moved, but it's been so crazy I didn't have time. So now all my pictures are back home in Indiana and I am in Utah for the summer, but I can't wait till August to get all this down or it will never get done. SO....

Here is a quick recap of the last couple of months, pictures will have to be added when I get home to Bloomington.

April

April was a busy month.

The best thing that happened in April was that Cayden turned 7!!!! I can't believe how grown up he is getting. What he wanted more than anything was a late night party with his friends, he said he was to old for a theme party. 12 screaming 7 year olds in our tiny townhome, lets just say it was crazy, but the kids had a blast. We had a lego building contest, ate cake, did fireworks, played freezetag, popped balloons, had a dance contest (this was hillarious watching them all dance), opened presents, and had a water balloon throwing contest. All the kids had a blast, and Cayden felt special on his big day.

Cayden started soccer and baseball. Crazy playing two sports, never again! I think he decided he likes baseball more. He is really good at baseball and has a great swing. I love watching him grow and mature with sports. The older he gets the funner it is to watch him play.

Emma is doing great in Gymnastics and loves dance as well.

The kids had their choir concert for the childrens choir they are in. They performed Seussical the Musical music, and had a blast learning all the songs. It was so fun to watch them perform.

We had a great easter and really enjoyed spending time as a family. The easter bunny came on Saturday and brought us some goodies. And we wore our beautiful new easter outfits to church!

April was also full of packing and getting ready to move, and me trying to get everything squared away for primary to be OK while I was gone for the summer. Chuck was studying for finals and we didn't see him a lot. It pretty much went by in a blur. Glad it's over!!

March

We had a great month in March. We were able to come home to Utah to visit, for Chuck's spring break. 10 whole days with daddy, we were in HEAVEN! It was so great to see our family and friends back home. I had a girls night with my mom and sisters, we went to Kangaroo Zoo, went to the Gateway Museum, went out to dinner with Bill and Marilyn and Steve and Vanessa...But mostly just hung out and talked and stayed up late eating ice cream and chatting. We love spending time with our family!

February!

February was great!! We had a fun Valentines day. Chuck brought me roses and I made a special dinner for all of us. The kids have been begging us for pillow pets so they all got one from Mommy and Daddy. They were all so happy, except that Gracie wanted Emma's instead.

We also had an amazing ice storm that was one of the worst that the midwest had seen in like 10 years. It was a little scary, but so beautiful!

At the end of the month we celebrated my 28th birthday. The kids were so cute, they woke up early to "make" me breakfast and paint me pictures. When I came down they had poured me cereal and gotten juice for me. They are so cute and thoughtful. Chuck made me a great dinner and we had so much fun celebrating as a family. My friend Giulia watched the kids so Chuck could take me to Red Mango for dessert. That weekend Chuck took me on my surprise birthday date. He took me to dinner at one of my favorite resaurants and then took me to get a MASSAGE! It was a wonderful surprise! I had a great Birthday, but I think I would like to stop aging now. 28 is good, don't need to get any older than this =).

Our favorite movie this month was Newsies, and the kids frequently dress up like them and love to sing all the songs from the movie.

January

January was a great month. We had so much fun having daddy home for the first part until school started again. We did lots of fun things as a family, and also did a lot of laying around in our pajamas and just spending time together. Our favorite thing to do on our vacation was dance. Everyday we would jam to High school musical or Camp Rock 2.

This is a picture of my Christmas gift from my Mom and Ron. They have the original and they got Giclee's made for all of us for Christmas. It is a picture of one of my ancestors Emma Summers (Emma is named after her). Emma came across the plains with the Willie Handcart company. This is a picture of when Anson Call rescued her. They were married a couple of months later.

We did dates with the kids before Chuck went back to school. Cayden got this great idea in his "Dangerous Book for Boys" Book that he wanted to make bow and arrows with dad. So they got all the stuff and went to work. They had a blast.

I took Emma to get manicures and then to get hot cocoa and cake at our favorite bakery, the Scholars Inn Bakehouse. It was so fun to just sit and talk with her. I sure do love that little girl, she is always making me laugh. She is such a hoot!!!

We also went to the Children's museum in Indy with our friends the rogers. The kids had a blast and we always love spending time with them.

We also did new years resolutions for the year. I felt really inspired that our theme and focus as a family this year needed to be becoming more holy, and making our home a holy place. That scripture kept coming to my mind..."Stand ye therefore in Holy places and be not moved, until the day of the Lord doth come." Love that scripture. I figure we better make our home a place of holiness if we are going to stand in holy places. So all of us made goals around this theme and we have been doing our family night lessons centered around things we can do as a family to make our home a more holy place, to make it more like a temple. Here are a few of our new years resolutions..

Cayden- Read my scriptures everyday (he has only missed about 5 days this entire year!). Say my morning and night personal prayers. And learn how to do a back handspring. Get a home run in baseball.

Emma- Have mommy read scriptures to me everyday. Play the Jesus Game with our family during devotional every night (this is a game Emma made up, every night we have a different prompt and we all have to answer the question. For example, sometimes it is My favorite miracle Jesus performed, or Why I am most grateful for Jesus.) Say my morning and night prayers, and learn how to do a round off and a back bend walkover.

Gracie- Get potty trained so mommy doesn't have to change me anymore, and to stop whining during FHE and Scriptures and prayer every night.

Love my kids. They are doing great so far at their goals and I have been really proud of the effort they have put in to completing their goals.
