Our Dear Prophet

I would just like to express my graitute for our wonderful prophet, who passed away on Sunday. He has been such a light in my life. He has been the prophet ever since I really develpoed a testimony of my own, and he has taught me so much. I will dearly miss him, but I feel so much joy that he is again reunited with his beautiful wife. I have no doubt that has now entered the rest of our Lord and Savior. Goodbye President Hinckley, we will miss you.

The Days of Technology

So we were driving in the car yesterday listening to music and out of the blue Cayden asks me if I will get him an IPod. I started laughing so hard, I don't have one and neither does Chuck, so I have no idea how he even knows what an IPod is. If anyone would want an IPod I would think it would be Emma, who loves to sit on Auntie Rachael's lap and listen to Hannah Montana on her IPod with her. Maybe Ben showed his to Cayden and told him what it was. Anyway, It got me thinking. We are so blessed to have the technology that we do in this day and age. I didn't get a cell, or even want one until I was 17. Yet my 9 year old little brother is already asking for one. Rachael got one when she was 13. I recognize how blessed we are to have these advances. But it means that we as mothers have to work extra hard to help our kids not get so caught up in these things. There is so much "stuff" out there. I really want to try and teach my kids about what is really important, and not let them get so caught up in the materialism of this world. It is so easy to loose yourself in it. I pray that I can be less caught up in the things of this world as well, and teach my kids by example. I hope that they will know that what really matters to me is the gospel, and our family. Not that I will never get them cell phones, or IPods. I just think we can all work on being a little less preoccupied with all the stuff we want.

Goodbye Grandpa

We found out today that Chuck's Grandpa passed away this afternoon. We love him so much and we will miss him. We feel so much joy that he is finally with his beloved wife. He has lived such a good life, and we know he has entered into the rest of our Savior. When we told Cayden that Grandpa had died he asked, "is he in heaven with Jesus?" We said "Yes." He looked very thoughtful for a minute and then said, "Mom, when can I die so that I can be with Jesus again." I am so grateful for the gospel, that we know that families will be together forever. I am grateful that we feel no despair, because we know that we will be with Grandpa again. And I am grateful for the faith of my little boy. He put it into such simple words, but it demonstrates how pure our little children are. Goodbye Grandpa, we will miss you

Fun Fun Fun

Our favorite thing to do is to laugh. Cayden and Emma are so fun to be with. They have such charming personalities. So I thought I would share a few pictures of some of our favorite moments of 2007. Our trip to Bear Lake with my family was so fun, Emma loved playing in the sand. We were able to go to California to visit chuck's family for Steve's homecoming. We got to do a lot of fun things with our Friends the Bradley's, including going on a camping and four wheeling trip. Cayden started School, and had a really cute Christmas program. He also played Football, and Soccer this year. Emma, started walking and talking, and made a lot of messes. Cayden turned 3 in April and Emma turned 1 in July. They both had really fun parties with all our friends and family there. Chuck and I took a trip to Cancun in July for our 5 year anniversary. We are so grateful for the times we have together. We had a great year, and hope that 2008 is just as fun.

Finally

Ok so I have finally jumped on the blogging bandwagon. I would love to keep in better touch with our friends and family, so hopefully this will help.
