Happy Birthday Gracie!

I seriously can't even believe that my Baby is turning one today! I have been tearing up all day. It seems like yesterday she was a tiny baby who would just melt in to my arms. . .

Now she is a starting to become a big girl! She is so beautiful, delightful, sweet and cuddly! I have just adored and enjoyed her so much the past year. She has brought us so much joy, and has been the best baby ever!

Here are a couple of my favorite things about Grace, things that make her so unique.

1- She will still cuddle with me. Whenever I pick her up she instantly puts her head on my shoulder and cuddles me for a few seconds. When she is feeling tired or tender she will cuddle me for hours. She is so sweet and cuddly I love it because Emma would never cuddle with me when she was a baby.

2. She is a mama's girl and a daddy's girl! She love me most of the day, but when daddy gets home all she wants is him. She adores her daddy and claps and yells whenever she see's him. She loves to cuddle him all the time and is always giving him hugs, but she won't kiss him cause of his scruff.

3. a couple months ago I told chuck that I was worried she was developing a weird tick where she would shake her head. It kind of looked like what autistic kids would do so I was a little worried. Well we finally figured out that she was just telling us no. It is so cute she shakes her head no whenever she doesn't like something and she has recently started nodding yes whenever she does like something. I think it's so cute!

4. She says MOM perfectly. I love it, she will follow me around saying "mom, mom, mom" all day long. And when daddy comes home it's "Dada" I love that she is starting to talk and learning new words all the time.

5. Her favorite food is pasta e fagoli soup. I think it's funny that she loves it so much, she will eat more that Cayden or Emma combined when I make it.

6. Gracie loves to dance and sing. Whenever we put music on she sings and dances the entire time and loves it. Her favorite thing to do is have me hold her and dance with her and sing to her. She will lay in my arms and hum along as I sing.

7. Grace loves Cayden. She always gets so excited when she see's him. Sometimes she even picks him over me. She loves Emma, but only at a distance, for some reason she doesn't like when Emma touches her, I don't know why.

8. Grace is always smiling, and everyone who meets her loves her. She has the cutest wave in the world. She kind of swirls her hand around in a circle like her hand is dancing. She waves to everyone we see. It's cute to see tough skater teenage boys start waving and smiling and cooing at her. She just melts everyone's heart!

Gracie's 1 year milestones.

1. Says mom, dada, Beh (Ben) she loves my brother Ben, baba (bottle), ya, uh uh (this means she's thirsty), and is learning new words everyday.

2. She just took her first steps a couple of days ago. She will take 3-6 steps then fall, but she's not really sturdy walking yet.

3. She just got her 4th tooth. So we now have top and bottom teeth, which really helps with eating.

4. She recognizes and loves other people besides our family now. She loves my mom and sisters and some of my friends.

5. Feeds herself, but still struggling with utensils.

6. Waves hello and goodbye

7. Loves playing with other babies

engaged!!!

YEY! Becca and Quin are finally engaged. We love Quin so much and can't wait for them to get married. They are getting married in the Timpanogos Temple on September 25th. And I am so happy, I get to come home for a week for the wedding. My kids absolutely adore Quin, especially Emma, who I think has a little crush on him. She loves it when he gives her hugs and kisses and always wants to play with him and sit on his lap. Now, whenever Becca asks the kids if they want to go on a date with her they say "only if Quin is coming." We are so excited for them!

Congrats Becca and Quin!

I took this picture when they came home to tell us they were engaged, I love it. Her ring is so gorgeous!

Happy Birthday Emma!!!

My beautiful, sweet, precious, tiny little baby...

Is now 4 years old...and beautiful as ever

I can't believe how the time has flown. I keep telling her to stop growing, I feel like it is going too fast. We celebrated Emma's 4th birthday on July 8th while we were in Hawaii. It was so much fun, I will write about the fun day later while I am writing about the trip. I just wanted to take a minute to write my favorite 5 things about Emma, the things that make her so special.

1. Emma is a firecracker. She is so feisty and fiery. She loves to be the boss, and to be in charge. She is constantly telling all of us what to do, including me. I love this because she is just like me!

2. Emma is very sensitive and emotional. She gets her feelings hurt very easily, and is very emotional about whatever we are doing. I don't love the emotional rants, but I do love how sensitive to others she is. She is so compassionate and truly cares about everyone's feelings. She is so sweet!

3. Emma has a very strong testimony in Jesus and in the priesthood. She used to have night terrors and get really scared at night. Chuck started giving her blessings before bed to help her to not feel scared. Now she asks for one every night, and without fail, when she gets one, she never comes out of her room scared. She tells us "I know if I get a blessing that Jesus will protect me." She is always telling me that Jesus can help me with whatever problem I am trying to solve. She is right, and I hope she always keeps that pure faith!

4. Emma's favorite thing to do is have tea parties. She will sit for hours and have a tea party with her pretend friends, she can talk to herself for hours and really be having fun. I also love to have tea parties with her, she is so fun to talk to.

5. Emma can talk for hours. I can just sit there and she will carry the entire conversation. She can talk about anything, and she wants to tell me about everything, everyday. She wants to know about everything I am doing, and really cares about what everyone is up to. She loves to talk!

I love Emma so much. She brings so much light and life into our home. She brings me so much joy and I am so proud to be her mother. She is a much stronger spirit than I am and I feel so privileged to be able to raise such a valiant little girl. She is our sunshine!
